Case Study · Mixer Repair

Worn Sigma mixer blades — rebuilt back to spec.

Blades that had lost their profile and clearance came in soft on batch quality. They left welded up, re-machined, hardfaced, and re-clearanced to the trough.

The Challenge

Years of abrasive batches had worn the Sigma blades down, robbing them of their original profile and the tight clearance they need to the trough. The result was inconsistent batches and longer mixing times — and the trough walls themselves showed matching wear.

What We Did

We rebuilt each blade with weld build-up, then re-machined it on the lathe back to the original profile and hardfaced the working surfaces for wear life. The trough was re-clearanced and re-lined, and the drive gearbox, seals, and bearings were serviced at the same time.

The Result

Blade-to-wall clearance and mix quality came back to spec, restoring batch consistency and mixing time. The rebuild shipped back ready to run, backed by a 12-month warranty.
