The Challenge
A worn, failing Farrel/Pomini extruder drive gearbox came off a compounding and profile line, dragging throughput and threatening unplanned downtime. Sourcing a replacement through the OEM meant a long lead time on a critical production asset — measured in quarters, not weeks.
What We Did
We tore the drive down to the bare housing, replaced every bearing and seal, and inspected the gears against tolerance — re-cutting where wear demanded it. Obsolete components with no supply chain were reverse-engineered and manufactured in-house. The gearbox was then reassembled, cleaned, painted, and tested before it left the floor.
The Result
The rebuilt drive shipped back ready to install and returned the line to rated throughput — backed by a 3-year warranty on the rebuild, at a fraction of replacement cost and delivered in weeks, not quarters.
